The Vancouver Buddhist Alliance for Social Engagement (VBASE)
meets weekly on Thursday evenings from 7-9 pm.
The weekly meetings will provide an opportunity to give and receive support, to look at Buddhist teachings related to death and dying, and to explore our personal attitudes about death. As well, there will be opportunities for group members to share their own expertise with one another and for mentors to provide training to the group.
The general format of a weekly meeting will include:
- silent meditation/sitting
- a brief check-in regarding how you are feeling
- issues raised in a participant's hospice work
- training in the Buddhist approach to death and dying
The next Vancouver BASE weekend retreat
on socially engaged
Buddhism is planned for September 2003.
