MAKE A DIFFERENCE: Volunteer with the Skills Outreach Access Team.

Help someone with their job search or training plans.

Listen to their problems.  Listen to their solutions.

Watch them make changes and celebrate with them.

Walk with them for a while as they find out they can do something to make changes if they have some help and they don’t feel like they have to do it all by themselves. Help them get comfortable with things that are sometimes new and scary.

Let us help you find out how good you are at supporting other people.

We are looking for someone who is a people person and
has some experience with at least three of the following:

  • Well organized

  • Punctual

  • Understand the the basics of looking for a job

  • Understand the welfare (“income assistance”) system

  • Knowledge of DTES resources

  • Problem solving

  • Self-advocacy skills

If this sounds like fun, call us at 604-713-5348 or apply in person at Skills Connection, 601 Keefer St., to the left of Strathcona Community Centre South Entrance.  There will be honoraria.

This project would not be possible without the support of:
