Strictly speaking, this isn't a 'Captain', but visually was kith and kin with them, so here I dragooned him in to pad out the series. (It is a him--people have asked.) No idea what I was thinking ...but it was one of the first compositions I worked out on a computer before starting. Its done in multi layered pastel, which creates a surface tone of unearthly, shimmering beauty, which I would love to share with you in a better photograph, were it not for the unearthly horror of taking apart the ghastly gigantic plexiglass frame to take the better photo. So you will have to suffer. Too bad, since its probably my favourite piece in recent years.
