CRTC Community TV Policy Review

The CRTC has posted almost 3,000 comments and interventions on the community channel review, Broadcasting Notice of Consultation CRTC 2009-661. The last major review was CRTC 2002-61 seven years ago.

For the CRTC 2010 Review of Community Television Hearing, C.M.E.S. first submitted a comment and then spoke up for neighbourhood participation through the CACTUS model of multimedia centres. C.M.E.S. also supports a Community Access Media Fund for community TV.

For background on international community TV, read Community Television Policies and Practices Around the World.
