- Front Desk Monitors
perform circulation and reception duties. They help members check in and sign out their books. They also help with answering the telephone and providing basic information. The front desk monitor is the first person people meet when they walk into the library. Therefore, we are looking for friendly, outgoing volunteers who can speak Cantonese and Mandarin fluently.
- Book processors help to record donations and processing new books for the collection, e.g., stamping, wrapping and sticking labels on the books.
- Shelf readers help to ensure that the books are put back in the right place on the shelf so that patrons can find them easily.
- Display Designers design and set up stationary and mobile displays on different subjects.

- Programming -
Many programs are offered each year for different target audiences. Volunteers with programming and other skills are needed to help organize, facilitate, and implement library programs and events.
- Outreach Services - The Outreach Services Assistants visit the seniors in housing projects and extended care facilities and help them write letters, fill in forms, interpret and translate English language materials. They also assist in running video programs for their clients and bringing them reading materials.
Fund-raising - The Chinese Community Library relies on fund-raising to maintain its services. We organize several fund-raising activities each year, e.g. annual dinner, book sale, etc. Volunteers are needed to work with the fund-raising committee in organizing these and other activities.
- Newsletter - The Newsletter is the tool to update members and the community on what's new and exciting at the Chinese Community Library. We need volunteers who like to write short articles or reports on the Library and its committees, books, reading, information, etc., in Chinese or English. We also need people with computer graphic design and drawing skills to help make the newsletter into an attractive publication.
