Regretfully, this is the worse photograph of maybe the best thing I've done, artwise. The figures are made of clay and mud, arranged one over the other on a glass platform. Ideally meant to be seen from directly above. the two figures would appear side by side, but apart. And what is this about, pray tell? Well, the Toronto artist Noel Harding blazed through the department one day, piercing us all to the core and leaving us to reconsider our careers vis the French Foreign Legion or volunteer snake venom extracting. But in-between shattering our fragile world constructs, he dropped the notion that all artists went through a 'relationship art' phase. So this is mine, the direct result of getting the boot from a young woman a month or two before.
Another remarkable thing about this work is I did it in my twenties, a time and concept strange and exotic to me now.
