SUPPORT

Here are ways you can learn about and support the creation of a UNPA:

  1. EDUCATION
Read the background information on this site, and further information at the Campaign for a Democratic United Nations (KDUN).   Keep up with the latest news.

  1. ENDORSEMENTS
Sign the endorsement letter as an individual and get other individuals to sign.  If you are a member of an organization, approach your group about becoming an endorser.

  1. ASK YOUR MP IF HE OR SHE WILL ENDORSE
We are looking for individuals in every riding in Canada willing to contact their MP and request endorsement, since we believe that existing Parliamentarians are in the best position to advance the UNPA proposal, and are most likely to support the concept of greater citizen input through a parliamentary dimension at the highest level.

It is up to constituents to make their concerns known but the Campaign will be glad to provide you with a package of information you can forward to your Member of Parliament, along with your covering letter.  Please contact the Vancouver branch or the Ottawa office to make arrangements.

To date, some 300 national Parliamentarians from many countries have joined the international campaign.  A complete list will be published in April.

  1. CAMPAIGN PLANNING
Participate in campaign planning.   Vancouver meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month. Join the [email protected] listserv  to keep informed.

If you are outside Vancouver and want to start your own group or network,  please contact the Vancouver branch or the Ottawa office.

  1. DONATIONS
Seed money is required for printing, postage, advertisement, and meeting space.  Contributions will be gratefully accepted.  Please contact us for information on charitable receipts.    Thank you for your support of this important initiative!
