Seniors Summit II

The Conference

Seniors Summit II will take place November 6th and 7th, 2004, at the Vancouver Metrotown Hilton in Burnaby, BC.

The theme for Seniors Summit II is “Building the World We Want." The 2004 summit will build on the successes of the inaugural summit held in 1999.

The conference will provide a forum for a gathering of seniors from diverse social, economic, and cultural communities in BC, as well as government and agency representatives responsible for addressing seniors' needs.

Throughout the various components of the confence program, delegates will discuss matters of interest to seniors, as well as to the overall communities in which they live.

The conference program has been designed to generate interest in the issues of an aging population among government and non-government organizations that work with and serve seniors.

The keynote speaker, patrons, and interest group presenters will address the inadequacies of our social systems in their failure to address the needs of an increasing number of seniors affected by poverty, unsatisfactory housing, uncertain health care, and isolation.
