Dunbar Memorial Preschool Celebrates Record-Setting Fundraising Event

Vancouver, B.C.: Dunbar Memorial Parent Participation Preschool (DMPPP), a parent-participation preschool with nearly 50 years of experience in educating preschoolers, broke its own fundraising record with the proceeds it garnered from its silent auction event in March.

Held Mar. 31st at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, DMPPP parents, teachers and members of the community came together and raised more than $8,000 for the betterment of the preschool and its children. It was an amazing result and a just reward for DMPPP’s extremely hard working volunteer parents.

"To see such support from our parents and our business community for our preschool is such a reward for our incredibly hard-working silent auction team," said Silent Auction Chair Renata Arnold. "Most importantly, the astounding amount of money we raised will provide our children with an even better place to learn and grow through play."

The night would not have been the stellar success it was without the very generous support and contributions of more than 125 organizations and individuals such as Jools Clothing, Dunbar Theater, My Adventure Bootcamp, Arts Umbrella, Canadian Outback Adventures, La Notte Restaurant, 2 Chicks Consignment, Proformance Racing, bopomo Photography, Stongs, Dunbar Heights Optical, Phoenix Gymnastics Club, Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, Pure Nail Bar, Sweet Williams Giftware, Kaboodles, Stongs, Molly’s Furniture Salad, Halo Salon, Just Imagine and Go Bananas.

DMPPP is grateful to all of its sponsors.

About Dunbar Memorial Preschool

Dunbar Memorial Preschool (DMP) is a parent participation preschool that has been celebrating play as the cornerstone of children’s early learning for nearly 50 years. At DMP play is paramount because play is an essential part of a child's life: a child grows, learns, communicates, acts and reacts through play. Our carefully crafted, multi-faceted programs emphasize this philosophy, enabling children to explore their first school setting freely and safely in a highly social, engaging and collaborative environment. Backed by a superb location in the Dunbar Community Centre, an unrivalled classroom setting and a stellar teaching staff, DMP is the educational play date for 2-, 3- and 4-year-olds.
