Parent Responsibilities
As a parent of a child in our three- or four-year-old program, you will have:
- 1 or 2 duty days each month
- 1 evening meeting each month
- 1 morning a year helping clean up the school
- an ongoing job which you will do all year
- to provide baking/snack for a third of the group once a year at general meeting
- to be involved in fund raising activities
As a parent of a child in our two-year-old program, you will have:
- attend with your child each session
- help with set-up and bring snack one day each month
- an ongoing job which you will do all year
- attend 1 evening meeting each month
- to help clean up the school one morning a year
If both parents are in full time employment, then either one or more of the parents needs some flexibility in the work time schedule, or an alternate caregiver needs to be available to do duty days. Involvement in preschool is divided between evening meetings and daytime activities. Duty mornings are required, and the duty parent or caregiver must have 10 hours of orientation, attend an orientation session in September, and the on-going monthly education sessions.
