UNNATURAL CAUSES: Is inequality making us sick? A seven-part documentary/DVD series exploring racial and socioeconomic inequalities in health. This documentary sifts through the evidence to discover there is more to our health than bad habits, health care, or unlucky genes. Cowichan Intercultural Society sponsors two Inclusive Leadership Adventures

  • October 22 to 25 - an exchange between 20 youth and adults from the Canada World Youth / Nampula, Mozambique project and 20 local youth and adults mainly from the Cowichan Region.
  • November 6 to 9 - an Inclusive Leadership Adventure that will bring youth and adults from many diverse groups together to explore ways of building welcoming and inclusive communities.

UBC Interprofessional Continuing Education Conferences

  • "The Early Years Conference 2010, The Rights of the Child," February 4-6, 2010, will explore early childhood, family and community development through the lens of Child Rights. Victoria Conference Centre, Victoria, BC. Details.

The 20th World Conference on Health Promotion of the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE), July 11-15, 2010, will take place in Geneva, Switzerland. The thematic scope of the Conference will focus on:
