The first meeting is scheduled for the first Friday of May 2008. Which is May 02 2008. The elite club is born in Kamloops!
December 02, 2011
The theme of the meeting this month is hackers united. Yes I think all in the know know this. We discussed the true meaning of cyber war and what it entails. Class war. Control.
The nerds to the rescue again - since it looks like the governments and corporations are busy trying to restrict our access to information -
we have decided to buid a whole new internet that cannot be censored or filtered by them. Woot!Woot!
November 04, 2011
The meeting was quiet. the topic this month was the censorship of the internets and bills such as the SOPA that is before the us congress. The bill was reviewed at the meeting.
Interesting that this bill and the Protect IP bill are being enacted by a handfull of people, paid off senators, just after the United Nations deemed it a "right" for citizens to have access to internet information un-filtered and un-censored.
That what I said... a "right" not a "priveledge" as some would have it.
October 07, 2011
Meeting went on as normaly. the topic of discussion was the occupy movements and the role of anonymous. we reviewed all the
latest documentation off the internet on the subject.
September 02, 2011
The heated discussion of the latest anonymous exerpts was discussed during the meeting... to summarize...
SELF GOV = WE THE PEOPLE
For those in awe - wondering what exactly is the anonymous plan - this just in...
Stage 1 - Spread the word. Hackers unite to defend the free flow of information that is the internet. Hackers unite! Engage in miscellaneous hacks to draw attention and a show of power.
Stage 2 - Exose the lies and corruption that is the cause of the degredation of humanity. Reveal back end databases and all the information that is hidden from the public about the depth of corruption of the rich
( governments ), their spin doctors ( media ) and henchmen ( law enforcement ).
Stage 3 - Promote self government - a natural evolution of human political science - online voting for all citizens to have a voice on every bill passed in legislatures so that "we the people" take back the planet and ensure that tyrany and treatchery is not possible forevermore...
August 05, 2011
Meeting transpired within normal expactations...
What is the first rule of anonymous?
Don't talk about anonymous.
What is the second rule of anonymous?
Don't talk about anonymous.
What is the third rule of anonymous?
Don't talk about anonymous.
July 01, 2011
Meeting was routine - except we had moved to a covert location at 5:05 pm. The reason for this is that we suspect we were being observed by an unknown male in an expensive grey suit. There has been reports of possible adversary characterization analysts making contact with members.
June 03, 2011
Meeting was cancelled due to other obligations... see u next month...
May 06, 2011
Fired up wireshark and scanned the university network to check out security. analyzed the captured packets and discussed the BROWSER, __MSBROWSE__ protocol based system. how to easily subvert this type of login scheme.
April 01, 2011
The meeting went off without a hitch. Latest topics include parsing dll's and so's with python and the mechanics of the Egyption internet service provider / government shutdown of services.
March 04, 2011
Brainstorm on concepts of cyberwarfare at the meeting. The recent government attempt to turn off the internet in Egypt was monumental. This showed us the drastic lengths that the government may go to in which to stop the degradation of power. In my mind - this should be extremely illegal - to mess with communications. But - as always - government expects to have exclusive rights. They can look at our file, but we are not allowed to look at their file :: bla :: bla :: bla Discussed methods to circumvent this via caching proxy, static persistent routes, other non-standard methods;)
February 04, 2011
Meeting was informative. In the recent research on fuzzing techniques we have been demoing various fuzzing applications. A demonstration on fuzzing a microsoft executable was conducted at the meeting employing Sully for the viewing pleasure.
January 07, 2011
January meeting was slow and was to be expected as the holiday season is always a time of great hangovers, diminished returns and poor timing. The time was spent reviewing the greatest hacks and security breaches of 2010, of which there was numerous huge mistakes made and lessons learned.
December 03, 2010
We discussed the Wikileaks hack of the SIPRNET and how exactly the hacker did it - easy hack is all I can say - even a girl could do it. The certificates, IP, location, usernames, passwords all predictable. Just the RF keypass impressive. Also the impact on the Gary Mckinnon issue this had. Seems that the strategy of officials against those who would reveal the truth is a smear campaign of manufactured evidence for falsified criminal charges, financial sabotage, uttering threats to incite violence, libel and slander.
November 05, 2010
Government corruption and the internet was the topic. The focus on how government has become more secretive but is spying on citizens surfing habits.
Octoberr 05, 2010
The direction of the IT Security field is the hot topic of the night. With the Stuxnet, I think people are taking notice now about security.

June 04, 2010

The November meeting was a success. There was no unusual activities. There is not many attendees usually. There is not much interest in IT security concepts in the city. We had one person present, we talked about the psychological aspect of hackers. Kind of an unusual topic, but at least it was related.

June 05, 2009
The Tim Hortons at the Old Main Building in front of the Registrars Office on Student Street was closed - surprise! The summer hours on the campus suck - we are going to look around for a new venue for the next couple meetings. Any suggestions can be sent to the contact email.
May 01, 2009
Heros Pub has changed to summer hours - therefore the meeting was moved to the Old Main Building coffee shop in front of the Registrars Office on Student Street.

December 05, 2008
The meeting went great. One attendee asking questions. Working on the site, fixing some problems. Hopefully will
have enough time between writing code to produce a poster to put up around campus by
december.
November 07, 2008
The new location for the monthly meeting at Heros pub at TRU is a great change. This is a perfect location - you
can blend into the background and study and have fun at the same time. Brought a laptop and studied the new ops
- Ubuntu.
Preparing posters to hang around campus for nest meeting.
October 03, 2008
The next meeting has been moved to the new meeting place. The November 2008 meeting and all meetings thereafter
will be at: Heros Pub, TRU University campus. Same date, same time.
This decision was made due to the nature of the club it will be easier to generate interest on campus. As well
advertising will be more effective employing the numerous bulitin boards on site.
September 05, 2008
Meeting went well and without incident. Had one attendee whom was a novice. The subject of Windows security was
the topic of interest as I explained how to best secure Windows.
I am back from my holidays - and back in the office. The servers have been "Off" since I left. Well be back
online soon.
August 01, 2008
Since I was in the area - I attended the Victoria 2600 meeting at QV Bakery and Cafe on 1701 Government St.
I had been in Victoria visiting friends and on my way to Tofino to go surfing. I arrived at approximately 6:30PM.
I had scoped the location the day before so I knew where it was to be held. When I got there I looked around for
anyone who looked like they were in the know and did not see any signs. So I went to the counter again and spoke to the same
barista that had previously prepared my chai soy latte and was dissapointedly told that he did not know of any 2600 group that
meets at that location and that he works every friday at this time and has so for years and did not know anything. I even whipped
out the latest copy of Hackers Quarterly and pointed out the address of the QV Bakery and Cafe on the back page -
he seemed surprised but contended again that he had never heard of such a group. I was wearing my Canada2600
t-shirt so if there had been anyone there that had any idea about the organization, I would have been approached.
I'm sure you sense my dissapointment.
The meeting for the Kamloops 2600 for August was held by a friend of mine, Karen. She reported one attendee
and nothing unusual occured. Now that I am back I can concentrate on getting the servers online and the site up
and running. After which I plan to do some intense advertising for the club.
July 04, 2008
All went great at the July meeting. We had a total of two guests! One was the same man from last meeting
and the new man is a Surveyer who was educated at BCIT. We had some good times talking tech. The topics
ranged from programming languages like the infamous Fortran to the famous C++ language.
The site will be up soon and then we will be ready for an extreme advertising champaign. We are thinking about
having a special event like a grand openning BBQ or such. It is in the planning stage. There has also been talk
about possibly moving the meeting place to a University campus venue.
No incident was reported, RCMP drove by once with a patty wagon. I take this as a mere coincidence..
June 06, 2008
Hi, my name is Elle. I write to inform you of my intentions to begin a monthly meeting in my city. Currently I
live in Kamloops, British Columbia, CANADA. Meetings will be held the first Friday of each month as per guidelines.
All conduct will be in keeping with the rules of the 2600 Organization.
The site is not yet online, the servers are down for maintenance at this moment, but should be online before the
May 2008 meeting - which will be the first club meeting.
Reports will be posted directly onto the site after meetings and an email will also go out to this address.
I look forward to hosting the new club - and greatly appreciate your input.
