Nuclear Weapons Treaty Review - Action Alert Write Your Letter


What To Do

  1. Familiarize yourself with the background information on nuclear weapons treaty review.

  2. Compose your letter.

    Express your concerns about the spread of nuclear weapons.

    Call upon the Canadian government to take a leadership role at the review of the Non-Proliferation Treaty in New York in May.

    Urge the Government to publicly call for:

    • Urgent steps for nuclear weapons to be taken off high alert, (including an immediate end to policies of launch-on-warning)

    • A start on negotiations on nuclear disarmament and on controls of materials used to build these weapons.

    • No backtracking on the progress made at the Review Conferences in 1995 and 2000.
