The physical, metaphysical, and biological universe, whether created or otherwise, is utterly bizarre - says Raymond. Although life evidences pleasures, sharing, co-operation, etc, all species engage in one or more of predation, deceit, theft, etc. Lifestyles - that of all creatures except perhaps at a level where only inert materials are used for food - are basically wrong. Yet if within that context a creature can evolve to such level of consciousness as to condemn it, then there is potential for striving to transcend it.
