THINGS Y0U CAN DO

  • Buy BC products first
  • Buy foods in season
  • Use more fresh foods when possible – highly processed or "convenience" foods are more expensive, generally less nutritious and use more energy to produce
  • Buy foods with as little packaging as possible
  • Support local food co-ops, farmers markets and community shared agriculture
  • Inform yourself on food and agriculture issues
  • Try growing your own vegetable garden
  • Support businesses that buy locally grown foods
  • Let your food retailer know what you want to buy and why
  • Support breastfeeding – locally produced, unprocessed food with no excess packaging!
