The Louisiana Joymakers were organized in 2003, a combination of five talented veteran Dixielanders and two blossoming rookies. They are quickly gaining a reputation as a band to be heard on the festival circuit. They play pop and traditional jazz tunes from the 1920s and 30s in a tasteful New Orleans or early swing style. As a coop band, each is a 1/7 leader.
The Louisiana Joymakers have recently had some changes in personnel. Please keep posted for an update describing the new band.

RECORDINGS:
The Louisiana Joymakers! have released their first CD, and it's worth having. Entitled Why? - a beautiful Jelly Roll Morton tune on the album - the CD features a collection of mostly standards which showcase the band's strong ensemble playing. These are all extremely talented musicians, and this is evident in the solo work throughout the recording. More important, they are all on the same page, musically speaking, resulting in some very interesting musical dialogues.
