VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTION
Langara Student Membership Support
Objective: ��� The VCN and Langara Student�s Union are providing dedicated Internet access for Langara students who take out a $25/year membership with the VCN. � Volunteers will register students for Internet accounts and process membership
Support/Training to be provided by: � VCN Coordinator of Volunteer Services and on-site LSU staff
Duties:
Essential Qualifications:
- Help Langara students register on line and on paper for VCN account
- Answer questions about VCN services and Langara accounts
- Distribute leaflets on desks throughout the campus
- Process membership payments
- Respond to and/or forward technical help requests to VCN Help Desk
- Basic Internet experience, including ability to use email
- Great interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Knowledge of VCN and non-profit organizations
Time Commitment Required:
- At least one shift per week for 5 weeks (10:30am to 2:30pm Monday to Friday beginning first day of each semester)
- Additional time to attend orientation, training and meetings and read online information
Location: Langara Student Union office, 100 West 49th Avenue, Vancouver
