User Support and Training Co-ordinator
Full time position for 12 months (may be extended) - $37,128 plus benefits
Overview:
Vancouver Community Network (VCN) provides public internet access
in the Lower Mainland and assists community building with online tools. We have around 7000 individual and 600
community group users of our services.
Our training and support is largely volunteer-based. We are looking for a person to integrate our
user support systems into one fully functioning system.
Duties:
- Help
us take our user help-desk out into the community
- Responsible
for monitoring and maintaining our request tracking system
- Develop
and implement a comprehensive user training strategy
- Maintain
the currency of our paper and online training and technical support
learning resources
- Recruit,
train and place volunteers to meet VCN needs
- Communicate
the value of access and community networking
- Identify
issues as they arise and work with supervisor and staff to resolve
- Prepare
and submit financial and narrative progress reports as required
Skill Set:
- Excellent
verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong
co-ordination and organizational skills
- Experience
with internet training and technical support
- Familiar
with community based learning, training and public education
- Familiarity
with community networking and public access is advantageous
- Experience
with volunteer co-ordination
- Ability
to work flexible hours
