Project Co-ordinator

Full time position for 3 years - $40,000 per annum plus benefits (per policy)

Goal:

To explore the effectiveness of using online interactive tools and public Internet access to support an 'assets based community development' process. Residents of 3 East Vancouver neighbourhoods will be helped in their efforts to map community-based assets, improve the local economy, and develop plans for resolving critical issues in the community.

Duties:

• Reach out to, then build and maintain relationship with, community agencies
• Community development with participating agencies and individuals
• Communicate the value of community learning networks
• Ensure agencies receive appropriate training
• Identify issues as they arise and work with Project Manager and staff to resolve
• Submit monthly progress report to project manager
• Liaise with appropriate advisory groups and committees as required

Skill Set:

• Advanced working knowledge of community development processes
• Superior knowledge of non-profits and marginalized groups
• Excellent organizing and communication skills
• Knowledge of community networking and internet public sphere issues
• Familiar with use of email, lists and simple web page construction
