The origin of this events back to the Phoenician, Roman and Celtic cultures. People gathered around bonfires in sing, dance, and told tales of the Ancients. This celebration of love, light and grace become a Catholic holiday honoring St. Jean-Baptiste. Historical research showed that Europeans, Scandinavians and Latin Americans were celebrating this event. With the blend of music, dance, art, fashion, food, history, the cultural diversity and the natural beauty of Vancouver, The Vancouver International Summer Festival will become an international recognized event.
