Directors and Volunteers

Have some free time? Want to make a difference in the gay and lesbian sport community on a global scale? You CAN make a difference. Join Team Vancouver! We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic people to be our:

WEB MASTER - You should have experience with web site maintenance and familiar with Dreamweaver HTML Editor, Image editing software like Photoshop or Fireworks, and be experienced in using CSS to format HTML pages. If you know what this means, we want to hear from you...because we don't know what our past web master just said.

SECRETARY -  You don't have to wear a dress if you don't want to, but you will have to record the minutes, file the annual report, and set the meeting agenda.

TREASURER - Who said numbers are boring? You play an important part in ensuring our books are up-to-date, write cheques, and prepare a financial statement for the annual meeting

DIRECTORS - You have a flair for marketing and promotions. You're involved with one or more sports team or cultural organization. Or you had a blast at the Gay Games and Outgames and you want to give something back. For whatever reason, step right up. We want to hear from you.

Women are encouraged to apply.

Thank You to Our Sponsors

Team Vancouver’s fiscal year ended March 31 and this is the perfect time to say thank you to our sponsors of the past three years.

In 2006, Team Vancouver sent a combined total of four hundred athletes and cultural participants to Gay Games VII in Chicago and the 1st World Outgames in Montreal. Our members excelled in all areas bringing home medals and personal bests.

Team Vancouver hosted the world in both cities at special events, culminating in a Wednesday night party at Le Drugstore in Montreal that attracted 1,500 guests from close to 100 countries.

In addition to participating in global events, Team Vancouver is an active founding member of both the Federation of Gay Games (FGG) and the Gay and Lesbian International Sport Association (GLISA).

Team Vancouver works to promote a healthy, safe and enjoyable lifestyle through participation in sport and culture on a local, national and international level. This can only be done with the support of individuals, companies and organizations. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of 2006 and especially to our sponsors: Vancity, Celebrities Nightclub, Dignity Memorials, The Oasis Pub, Sport Med, Paris Orthotics, and XTRA West.
