HOSTED HOUSING IN CHICAGO
The Gay Games Chicago Hosted Housing Matching Service is now available online.
The online system provides prospective Hosts and Guests the opportunity to complete a simple survey, search results, and then email people directly to set up a hosted housing arrangement.
That's it! You and your potential host should exchange emails or phone calls and make arrangements. Hosts should not charge Guests for the lodging and Guests should agree to be respectful and courteous to Hosts. Guests might want to reimburse Hosts for any food or drink consumed.
If you have any problems with the Hosted Housing system, email info@gaygameschicago.org - put "Hosted Housing" in the subject line.
Good luck in making your arrangements - Hosts are standing by!

From a youthful and gutsy beginning in southern Ontario, "Honey" Monroe gave his first significant stage appearances for the Coloured Veterans' Association across the line in Niagara Falls, NY, in one of the segregated halls of the post-war period. Actress Marilyn Monroe was a star on the rise, and Honey Monroe was regularly seen covering Marilyn's greatest numbers from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.
Following an extended working period in England, Bill Monroe returned to Canada, working his way across the country from Manitoba to British Columbia, where he is today. Now famous across North America for his performances as Queen Elizabeth II, Bill is widely recognized as a leading volunteer fundraiser among gay and lesbian arts and sports groups including thousands of dollars for the Team Vancouver uniform fund. MEET YOUR TEAM VANCOUVER HEROES
Team Vancouver members have earned four nominations for this year’s Xtra West Hero awards: Paul Campbell, The English Bay Triathlon Club, Pat Hogan and Glenn MacDonald.
Pat Hogan is recognized for the Lifetime Achievement Award for her decades of devotion to the lesbian and women’s community as a supporter and promoter of entertainment productions, a teacher and participant in ballroom dancing and a protagonist for the lesbian as co-chair of Team Vancouver.
The Athlete/Sports Organization of the Year Award has three Team Vancouver contenders and they are:
Paul Campbell: nominated for sticking to his training despite all obstacles. Meniere’s Disease and gall bladder surgery have not derailed his quest for the bodybuilding competitions in Montreal this summer.
The English Bay Triathlon Club: for continuing to open the world of triathlon to the LGBT community while supporting and raising funds for the Gay and Lesbian Educators of BC to address homophobic name calling in school.
Glenn MacDonald: for being the voice and face of Team Vancouver as it prepares for this year’s international competitions and his commitment to members, teams and sponsorship. Glenn will compete in the bridge tournament in Montreal.
These Hero Award nominations are a vote of confidence for Team Vancouver and for it’s members, teams and sponsors.

*What's a T-Dance? Since it's not yet in Wikipedia but here's a brief description: T-dances were popularized on Fire-Island, a favorite summer getaway for an upscale New York crowd. They happen around afternoon tea time, of course. The original T-dances may will have originated in the Tea Room at the Empress hotel in Victoria. But somewhere between Victoria and Fire Island, the acceptable dress became rather more casual and the palm court orchestra gave way to more modern beats. Truly, all are welcome, have a drink or three, investigate the various patios and levels of the Kingston Taphouse, and enjoy a slide show of the Lees Trail Triathlon.
