Bill Monroe and his friends have raised over $1.600.00 to help subsidize the 2006 Team Vancouver uniform. His popular Shake Your Can series continues Sunday April 9th at The Oasis Pub. International sensation Sybil Thrasher and Vancouver gospel favourite Candace Churchill are featured. Showtime is 7:00 pm sharp. Support the artists who support the team. The Mabel League  - Women's Fastpitch Softball Team

The Mabel League was established in Vancouver, B.C. Canada in 1990. We are the largest Women's C Division Fastpitch league in Western Canada. We are a lesbian league which fosters a safe & fun environment for lesbians, bisexual and heterosexual women, transgender, and transsexual people to play recreational softball.
Each year we have our first Team Rep meeting in February and games beginning in mid April. New players are accepted each year until the end of May, although available spots in teams may be filled up before then. New teams should contact the league before March.

The Vancouver Rogues Rugby Football Club

Rogues Rugby is the newest rugby club in Vancouver, BC.  We are committed to building a diverse membership and purposefully recruit players of all ethnicities, races, and sexual preferences.

Rogues Rugby is also the only club in town that provides a development program specifically for adult novice players who haven't had the opportunity to learn to play rugby through mini, high school, or junior rugby programs.

Rogues Rugby is a member of the British Columbia Rugby Union (BCRU).  We began playing in the 3rd division of the Vancouver Rugby Union sub-union in the fall of 2003.  We are hoping to put together a junior (under-19) team as well as a team for the over-40 league in the near future, and garner enough interest to launch a women's side.

Rogues Rugby Launches Spring Rugby Programs for Men and Women

Rogues Rugby invites men and women interested in playing rugby this spring/summer to check out their Spring Rugby clinics this Saturday April 1. 
At 11AM Rogues Rugby presents the 1st session in their new “15-as-1” learn-to-play program for women.  “15-as-1” is a 4-week program jointly presented by the Rogues, BC Rugby and ProMOTION Plus – an organization dedicated to encouraging the participation of women in sport.

At 1PM, the Rogues are launching their Men’s Spring Rugby Program with a clinic for new players.  The Rogues are recruiting gay and bisexual athletes who may have little or no prior rugby experience as well as current/recent players of all skill levels to attend. 

Both men's and women's sessions wrap up with a BBQ so stick around, meet some of the current players and get a feel for the great club environment that is Rogues Rugby!

Both sessions are at Braemar Park in Vancouver.  The park is centrally located (just 10 mins drive from downtown!) next to G.F. Strong behind the Safeway at the Oak St. /King Edward intersection.  There is no cost for either session, but the Rogues request that interested participants RSVP to help their coaches plan the sessions.  For more info, detailed directions, or to register, email or call (604) 812-3603.

West End Slo-Pitch Association (WESA) Registration Night
Yes, it may be raining every day. Yes, it may only be in the midst of winter. And YES… It’s time to start getting ready for the 28th season of slo-pitch with WESA!!!
The commission is looking forward to another fun year of ball. We hope everyone else is as well. The official ball season will begin Sunday, May 7th this year

Out for Kicks Soccer Club Registration Night
OFK's outdoor season will soon be upon us. The OFK board has already met on two occasions to begin planning for what should be another exciting season.  The registration fee will remain at $75 for the entire season. More details will be posted shortly on our website but if you have any questions in the meantime, feel free to send them to info@outforkicks.ca and we'll try to get back to you as soon as possible.

We also have spots remaining on our two recreational soccer teams to Montreal. 
If you have a lot of interest in soccer and want to also join the tournament in Montreal at the first Outgames, let us know.   This is a completely separate effort though than the regular OFK Season. But if you are interested, we can give you information about how to register through Montreal's Outgames website, and shared accommodation information with the team.    
OFK's Montreal teams have already been practicing in March but need some more people to complement the team.

Vancouver’s Cutting Edges are looking to the summer and building two teams for the 1st ever, OutGames to be held in Montreal, Quebec from July 29 to August 5, 2006.
“We are planning on building two teams to take to Montreal this summer and we still have a few positions available”.

Team Vancouver Announcement:

For the first time ever, Team Vancouver, through the efforts of Eric Hoppe, BScPT, Registered Physiotherapist and a Team Vancouver Board Member, will be establishing a dedicated medical/paramedical team presence at the Montreal Outgames.  Eric will be donating his time throughout the week as a Physiotherapist exclusively to Team Vancouver members and will be joined by Robin Perry, RMT, who has graciously volunteered to provide Massage Therapy services. 

More volunteers are needed to make this a truly successful venture.  If you or anyone you know will be attending the Montreal Outgames and would be willing to volunteer medical/paramedical services to Team Vancouver please email Eric .
