Senior Support Services - Outreach Congregate Meals

Senior Support Services assists Seniors to maintain or increase their independence so they may remain living in their own home. We will inform you of various programs that are available to assist seniors and if needed will link you to these services. We have several volunteer programs that provide socialization and will support you in achieving a more independent and satisfying lifestyle.

WHEELS TO MEALS

Wheels to Meals are community meal programmes offered in various locations throughout Surrey and in White Rock. Transportation to and from the meal programme is coordinated by Senior Support Services. Transportation costs vary depending upon type of transportation used. There is a meal charge of $5.50-$6.00 per person. Each meal programme has Fellowship, Sharing, Learning, Entertainment and Lunch in a warm friendly atmosphere.

Each meal programme is supervised by a caseworker and is operated with the assistance of many caring volunteers. Meals are cooked on site at various locations throughout Surrey and in White Rock.

The meal schedule is as follows:

South Surrey / White Rock Monday, Thursday & Friday
North Surrey Tuesday, Friday, & Wednesday
Newton - Wednesdays
Cloverdale - Thursdays

Participants will be called each week to inform them of the menu, to arrange transportation, and to confirm their attendance. Meal charge is $6.00-$6.50.

Senior Support Services

We believe that each senior has their own specific needs and because of this; need information on the various programmes and services available to meet those needs. This information allows seniors to make informed decisions about the type of assistance needed to remain independent in the community. Senior Support Services provides one-stop access to the many services and programmes available in your area and will assist seniors in accessing services.

A directory of services and programmes available in the community is available. If your directory is over six months old please ask a caseworker to bring a new one for you on their next visit.

Any donation to Senior Support Services is greatly appreciated and is fully eligible for an income tax donation.
