Senior Support Services assists Seniors to maintain or increase their independence so they may remain living in their own home. We will inform you of various programs that are available to assist seniors and if needed will link you to these services. We have several volunteer programs that reduce isolation and will support you in achieving a more independent and satisfying lifestyle.

This service receives funding from the Fraser Health Authority, “Direct Access Gaming Funds”, Province of B.C., Service Clubs, the United Way and by private donations. It is designed to assist seniors to maintain or increase their independence in the security of their own home. Many also enjoy an improved state of well being and a more satisfying lifestyle. The service is offered throughout Surrey and White Rock.

Health fairs are a great way to learn about those services already available. We will host a health fair in your building where many agencies will have information about their services.
Bi-monthly meetings are held on the first and third Mondays of the month at Whitecliff Retirement Residences on 16th Ave. across from Peace Arch Hospital. Join us for coffee, talk, support and laughter. The group is a place to get information and support.
This ten week long program is offered three times a year. Classes are held at the Come Share Centre at 15008 26 Ave in South Surrey. Classes are from 6:30-8:30 pm. On Thursdays. Call for the dates of the next session beginning in September.
You can expect a visit from a staff member about four times in the first year. We want to know if we are successful in helping you to meet your needs.
You can expect assistance from a staff member in providing information and referrals that will assist you in the role of caregiver.
A library of materials is available specific to the needs of the caregiver. Books, tapes, videos and pamphlets are available on loan from the centre. Visit our cozy library and learn more. In addition, you may make an appointment for individual counselling and education.
Coverage may be received so that your loved one will be looked after to free you to attend the education series for caregivers. Check with your caseworker.
Any donation to Senior Support Services is greatly appreciated and is fully eligible for an income tax donation.
