In 1984, the Supreme Court of Canada said BC owns the Nanoose seabed. In 1992, the BC Legislature voted 51 to 1 to make our province a nuclear-free zone. In 1999, Ottawa expropriated the seabed off Nanoose Bay so US nuclear attack subs can continue weapons testing.
