Description:
Provides programs in the community for immigrant refugee women and their young children. Encourages community participation among immigrants. For women who are able to participate in English, it offers a leadership training program and group facilitation training (Building Bridges Program). For immigrant women interested in learning English, there are language and orientation support groups, along with concurrent multicultural ESL preschool programs for their young children (aged 3-5). The society also offers referrals, support groups, workshops and a newsletter. Support group meetings are held weekly. The society would probably be willing to teach the ESL classes at the 411.
