Knights of Columbus Saint Francis Xavier Council 10500 Car Wash Campaign 2011

Our council had our annual car wash campaign scheduled for the two
Sundays August 14th and 21st. This year, our campaign was to raise fund for
charity. We started selling car wash tickets to parishioners on August 7th.
Due to special request, we washed a few cars a week ahead of our scheduled
time. Throughout the Car Wash Campaign, weather was cooperating. We
actually had blue sky all along. Parishioners dropped their car before Mass
and picked them up after Mass. The whole process was run smoothly.
Eighteen Brothers volunteered their time in each of the two Sundays. We
washed a total of eighty four cars, raised $1,500 and set a new record we
have ever achieved.

Something worth mentioning - during the campaign, one Brother from
Coquitlam came volunteered his time the whole morning with his wife.
What special was that this couple was at the Airport around 2 am seeing
both their daughters departing for volunteering work aboard. They drove to
our Church right after, parked and stayed in their car till 7:30 am. They
volunteered their time washing cars till 12:30 pm. They are a kind-hearted
couple, a dedicated Brother Knight and set good example for us all.
