The “Coats for Kids” program is part of the Knights’ Help a Child in Need campaign, which began in 2006 with a nationwide appeal during the Christmas season for donations to charities that support the needs of children. The initiative began as an effort to help families with children living in colder climates who have been severely impacted by the sharp and sudden downturn in the economy.

The Supreme Council is asking every State jurisdiction to initiate campaign in support of this program.

Councils participating in the “Coats for Kids Program” will project a very positive image of Knights of Columbus sensitivity towards community needs.

To kick off this program your State Council has purchased some boxes of coats from Supreme to donate in the Vancouver and Fraser Valley through our local Archdiocese involvement and through our communities.

As your State Community Director I urge you to help these Children in need by asking your councils to participate by ordering a couple of boxes of warm coats and donating them to your community program for “Coats for Kids”.

Should you or your Council Community Director require any further information or assistance? Please do not hesitate to contact me or our State Program Director, Brother Peter Horsfield.
