The Recall and Initiative Act allows voters in British Columbia to remove a Member of the Legislative Assembly. Once an application to Elections B.C. is approved and a petition issued, organizers have 60 days in which to collect signatures from 40% of the voters who were registered in the Member's electoral district at the last election, and who are currently registered B.C. voters. Many ridings in B.C are now setting up such organizing committees.
