About Us
The Family Education & Support Centre is a non-profit society that has been providing programs to the communities of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows for the past 35 years.
Our Goals Are To:
Provide parent education programs with the aim of increasing parent's confidence and ability to offer a supportive growth environment for their children.
- Provide programs to enhance individual strengths and enrich individual skills.
- Promote awareness of issues affecting family life.
- Respond to the diversity of individuals, families and the changing demographics of the community.
- Maintain liaison with social and educational services in the community.
- Support the development of other community based social services that enhance lives of families and other citizens of the community.
While the primary focus of the Centre has always been on parenting education, we have expanded our mandate to provide some other services which were much needed in our fast growing community.
In addition to family life education we offer:
Families Supporting Families Self Help Support Groups
- A support group for single mothers
- An educational/support group for isolated immigrant women
- Immigrant Settlement Services in response to the growing diversity in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows
- Adult Mental Health Resource Centre services including resources, referrals and educational forums
