	The Children's Chinese Essay Writing Competition is an annual event for the Chinese Community Library. The event is for youths between 8 to 16 years old.

Rules
Participants are divided into six groups by age (Juniors are 8-10 years; Intermediate are 11-13 years; and Seniors are 14-16 years) and length of time in Canada (immigrants or Canadian born). Each group is given a topic to write on in a classroom setting. Despite the high pressure situation, we are amazed at the outstanding quality of some of the essays. Trophies, cash and gifts are awarded to the top winners in each category.
