Welcome to Britannia Outdoor Adventures. All our activities are lead by experienced guides with Wilderness First Aid certification. Unless otherwise stated all necessary equipment is provided. All participants are expected to carry a day pack with water, food, rain gear, toque and gloves/mitts, and an extra warm layer of clothes. Please view the Essential Items page for more details. Footwear that is supportive, warm and weather resistant is important for safety and comfort. Dress in layers versus a single heavy, warm jacket, to help regulate your body temperature. Be prepared for inclement weather anytime of the year. All activities leave from the Pool lobby, unless otherwise stated.

Our trail rating below is meant to give participants a better understanding of what to expect. Participants should be in good physical condition and are to complete a medical history form before departure. The group leader has the right to limit participation of an individual if they are not prepared or lack the fitness to safely complete the outing. Any questions please contact Barry at 604.718.5828 or Contact Us via e-mail

Indian Arm Canoe Weekend

Watch the sunset from an island vantage point while sipping a cup of camp coffee. A quick one night camping trip that has us camping on Twin Island, a short one hour paddle from Deep Cove. A great way to say goodbye to summer and wrap up another camping season! With camp set-up on Saturday morning we will have time to explore a little further up the Arm. All canoe related equipment is provided, as well as camping equipment for those without their own gear. Food is not included in the cost. A pre-trip meeting held on Tues. Sept. 7 at 7:00 pm in the Information Centre, should answer any questions you might have.

Sat. Sept. 10 to Sun. Sept. 11
9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Tangled Summit Hike

Overlooking Buntzen Lake is Eagle Ridge whose summit has been called Eagle Peak and Mount Beautiful in the past but is now officially named Tangled Summit. The hike involves 18.5 km of trail walking (return), some of it on the road running alongside Buntzen Lake, and a healthy elevation gain of almost 3800 feet (slightly higher than the Grind but 6 times the trail distance). We pass the scenic Swan Falls and receive almost panoramic views from the summit of Mount Baker, Indian Arm, and the Strait of Georgia. Rating: D-4 (trail section)

Sun. Sept. 25
8:00 am – 6:00 pm
Cost: $44

Ladner Cycle Day Trip

Ladner is a great location for a relaxing cool fall cycle. We will park close to the Massey tunnel where we will begin our ride. From here we will cycle along River Road following along the south arm of the Fraser River, past floating and heritage homes, along the country roads on Westham Island to the George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary. Here we will walk the paths of the sanctuary before returning to the van (admission included, please bring a bike lock). The date coincides with the beginning of the Snow Geese arrival as well. The intended route is 22 km total distance with a moderate pace. Bikes & helmets are not included in cost but a bike or two may be available to borrow if you don’t own one of your own. Wearing a helmet is must.

Mt. Seymour Hike

A classic north shore hike. This 9 km round trip hike will take us to Mount Seymour’s third peak after gaining almost 1500 feet in elevation. One of the reasons for Mt. Seymour’s popularity is the views from the trail as well as the summit. When looking to the west, east and north you see mountains to the horizon! This time on the year the trail can be icy to start off the day. Rating: C-3

Sun. Nov. 6
9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Cost: $33
