BC-AIRS is a supporter of the BC 211 Initiative. The goal of the BC 211 Initiative is to develop a province–wide, free, and confidential information and referral service that is effective, efficient, and sustainable.

Purposes of BC-AIRS:

  • To develop and maintain quality, coordinated Information and Referral network for the province of British Columbia;
  • To foster cooperation by providing a vehicle for regular communication and peer support;
  • To promote excellence in the field of Information and Referral;
  • To advance the professionalism of the membership;
  • To provide for the development of Information and Referral skills;
  • To promote Information individuals, community service agencies and public bodies.

If your agency links people in your community with available services, and you would be interested in tapping into a resource which will help you provide Information & Referral services more effectively, then you should consider becoming a BC-AIRS member.
